Robert Pickton was a former pig farmer and serial killer convicted of the second-degree murders of six women. He was also charged in the deaths of an additional twenty women, many of them prostitutes and drug users. The pig farmer mainly preyed upon drug addicts and prostitutes, picking them up on the streets before driving them to his farm, where he had sex with them before torturing then murdering them. He handcuffed and stabbed other victims, including one woman who managed to escape, naked and bleeding, in 1997 after stabbing Pickton with his own knife.That woman was considered unreliable by police, though, and Pickton was not prosecuted. His rampage would continue another five years before he was finally caught.
